In every home there are many small things that are usually simply thrown into a drawer or closet. It’s not very convenient to store them like this - everything seems to be in place, but at the same time everything lies in a big heap in which there is no logic or order. But you want to easily and quickly find and take out the right thing without unnecessary movements and just as quickly put it back in place after use. Special separators were invented for this case.. You can buy them, or you can make them yourself. How to make drawer dividers with your own hands without spending a lot of time and money?

A little about storage systems
Cabinets, drawers, special baskets or boxes and other items, the purpose of which is to simplify the storage of things and put things in order, are called the clever phrase “storage systems”. They are necessary for order and comfort in the house, otherwise, when everything is piled up in one pile of things, there can be no talk of any comfort. It is also impossible to quickly find the small item you need if it does not have its own permanent, strictly designated place. But if the storage of things in the house is organized correctly, then there will be no clutter, everything will be in its place, significantly simplifying a person’s life.

On a note! Storage systems also allow you to optimize the free space in your home without cluttering it.
Storage system for a dressing room
Storage systems can be different in type and type, in size and purpose of use. So, first of all, they can be divided into open ones , which include hangers, window sills, shelves, and closed ones - these are cabinets, drawers, chests of drawers, etc. Inside each large-sized storage system, smaller ones can be used. For example, in the same closet you can hang a scuba or put a drawer for small items, and in the chest of drawers you can place a smaller organizer or put dividers, which will be discussed below.

System type | Information |
Frame | Such storage systems include everything that has a durable, rigid frame. These can be wardrobes and chests of drawers, bedside tables and other furniture. Most often these are made of wood, but there are also plastic variations. You can put objects of various sizes and purposes in them, depending on the purpose of the system itself. Smaller storage systems can be installed inside. |
Panel | Such systems are usually open, unlike frame ones, which most often have doors. They are installed on walls and can be used depending on their purpose. So, the main example of such a system is an ordinary hanger. |
Mesh | This is a suspended type of structure for storing things and, moreover, does not have a solid frame. Most often, such systems are made of mesh fabric and have many pockets for various items. They can be fixed on a special rod or hooks in a vertical position. Can be used both outside and inside other storage systems. |
Barbells and hangers | These elements are necessary for hanging various things and clothes. They help keep wardrobe items in proper shape and prevent them from becoming wrinkled and deteriorating. The rods can be installed both inside cabinets and outside. Hangers can be of various types. Both those that are used inside cabinets and those that can be installed on the floor or placed on the wall. |
Boxes | These systems can also be of different types, but most often they are part of a larger storage system. We are talking about chests of drawers and cabinets, desks and kitchen units. They often have just small drawers for storing small items and various utensils. Inside these drawers, organizers and dividers can be used to optimize storage. |
Shelves | Shelves are usually an open variation of the storage system, but there are also doors that can be closed. As a rule, they are used to decorate a room or are used to store books, various bottles, etc. They can also be additionally equipped with organizers or be part of a larger storage system. |
Every woman dreams of having her own dressing room.

Slippers for slippers Here is the long-awaited doorbell, and the corridor is filled with a noisy crowd of arriving guests. There is a bustle at the threshold: everyone undresses, hangs up their clothes, puts on slippers, hospitably offered by you, and moves to the bathroom to perform the necessary hygiene procedures before the upcoming festive feast. Is this a familiar picture? To ease the troubles of the receiving party somewhat, such a curious detail of the interior of the corridor as a slipper for house slippers is intended. It consists of a giant slipper, which is hung on the wall in the hallway, pocket down, and filled with house slippers for guests. This very simple, but comfortable thing is on sale and is even already filled inside with a certain number of the mentioned house slippers for guests. Its cost fluctuates around 15 dollars, and the quality is very questionable. But any needlewoman can make a giant slipper on her own, and you can fill it with better quality house slippers for guests than in the ready-made version offered. But let's talk about everything one by one. To make our giant slipper, the first thing you need is a pattern. Even without the training of a cutter, you can easily make it yourself by placing any indoor slippers with closed toes on a sheet of A1 paper and tracing it with a simple pencil, giving an allowance of 15-20 centimeters along the entire perimeter.
After the pattern is ready, we transfer it to the fabric and sole of the future giant slipper. The main material can be ripped old jeans, wool, felt, plush: anything that will highlight your basic hallway interior in color and texture. The material for the sole can be thick cardboard or a piece of old linoleum, polystyrene foam or a sheet of rubber.
When cutting out the upper part of the sneaker, which forms a pocket, be sure to make it slightly wider than the base. After all, the slipper should not turn out to be dense; it is necessary that a volume be formed, which will then allow us to fill our giant slipper with ordinary house slippers.
After all the parts are cut out, you need to fasten them together using ordinary paper clips.
Now we come to the final and most crucial moment: processing the edges. You can fasten all the layers together using hemp or any other rope sold in a hardware store. Depending on the thickness of the resulting layers of the giant slipper, holes for pulling the fastening seams can be made using a drill or screwdriver.
A screwdriver will also help push the rope into the hole.
You can get rid of the paper clips attached around the perimeter of our sneaker as you complete the stitching. Using the same rope, you can also make a hook, which will allow you to hang the finished slipper on the wall in the hallway.
OK it's all over Now. We fill our giant slipper with house slippers. You can decorate it by pinning badges on the top fabric or making additional pockets, for example, for keys or a shoe blade, shoe polish and brush. Guests! Where are you? Aw! Take apart your slippers!

Small storage systems
In addition to large-sized systems, there are also all kinds of small ones that simplify the storage of small-sized items and prevent them from existing in one continuous heap in the house. Often they can be installed inside dresser drawers, on shelves, or be suspended and located anywhere in the apartment. Everything here will depend on the desires of the home owner, as well as on the design and capabilities of the premises.
Storing cosmetics in a drawer
Let's look at the main types of small storage systems.
- Pockets – convenient storage systems for rooms such as kitchens and bathrooms, as well as toilets. You can also use pockets in closets, but this is usually not practical. They are a soft organizer with many compartments. Usually made of fabric or film.

- Mesh baskets – usually used as additional storage space for small items. Convenient to place in a closet or under the bed.
Furniture for the dressing room
- Vacuum bags – the optimal solution for storing oversized winter clothing such as down jackets, as well as for transporting a large amount of clothing. They help reduce the space occupied by things in the closet due to the fact that excess air can be removed from the bags using a regular vacuum cleaner. Thanks to this, the volume of clothing is reduced to a large extent. The only negative is that clothes get very wrinkled in such bags.

The compression pack works on the principle of a vacuum, but without the use of a vacuum cleaner or portable pump. Air is removed from the filled case by twisting the bag into a roll towards the clasp, after leaving a small gap in the lock

- Hanging shelves, racks, scubs. This is what you can buy at Ikea or other similar stores. They are usually hung on rods in closets and things are stored in them. Several sections are created at once. As a rule, such shelves have a fairly soft frame and, if desired, they can be folded and removed if there is no need to use them.

Advice! Depending on what you plan to store, you need to choose a storage system. Thus, small wardrobe items can be placed in small textile drawers; plastic organizers are ideal for storing kitchen utensils. You can also store something in cardboard boxes, etc. Plastic and fabric products are perfect for storing children's toys.

It turned out to be a wonderful organizer, and it’s right in the cardboard technique. Thanks for the idea, we would like such organizers for all sorts of handicraft needs. Otherwise, the bins are replenished, but there aren’t enough boxes *CRAZY*

What craftswomen don’t come up with! The work is painstaking, but I really liked the result. Nowadays stores sell boxes for things of various sizes and colors, but they don’t have these cells. You can buy a ready-made box and make the cells, as in this master class. I found an easy way.))))
