Bedroom in minimalist style: simplicity and convenience of a laconic interior (47 photos of interiors)

Minimalist bedroom design

The main condition in the color scheme of minimalism is neutral tones. There are many finishing options. Wallpaper, plaster or paint will do, but in a single color. Subtle colors with minimal decor (paintings, figurines) are required.

The most successful option for the floor is parquet or laminate of a single color without patterns, so that it matches the rigor of the general direction. Carpets and small rugs are not allowed; open floor space should create space to visually expand the room.

An economical option is a plain carpet on the floor in a light tone.

The ceiling should be decorated without decorations (stucco moldings and borders); spot lighting with clear geometry is possible. Choose the color of the ceiling white or pastel colors (milky, beige, etc.). Water-based paint or a modern stretch ceiling (matte or glossy) will do.

Use textiles only in bedding, without colorful pillows or draperies. We also buy a plain bedspread without finishing.

Curtains should be replaced with blinds or roller blinds; the colors should go well with the overall design. Choose transparent fabrics: organza or tulle.

Choice of lighting and mirrors

In a minimalist bedroom, good lighting is a must: a large central chandelier will not suit this style. It is better to choose small spotlights on the ceiling or in the closet. You can hang sconces (floor lamps) near the bed and place night lights on the bedside tables.

Decorations in chandeliers made of crystal or glass, colored plastic, Rococo or Art Nouveau lanterns, etc. are excluded. Lampshades of regular geometric shapes and muted shades are needed. Designers recommend lampshades and simple lamps.

A large window is preferable. According to the rules, a strict mirror without a frame is required. It can be located in a convenient place. A closet is more convenient with a mirror inside or outside.

Selection of forms and materials

The choice of bed models is influenced by various factors: the area and shape of the room, the cost of the products, the presence of additional storage systems in the room, and the individual preferences of the homeowners.

Variety of shapes

When arranging a bedroom, it is important to maintain proportions between the furniture and the parameters of the room. In a small room, a bulky bed will take up most of the space, and in a spacious bedroom, a compact bed will simply be lost.

Most often, when furnishing a bedroom in a minimalist style, beds of two shapes are chosen:

  • The round bed will become a real interior decoration. It is appropriate to place such a bed in a large room. The diameter of the sleeping place is usually at least 2.2 m;
  • beds of rectangular or square shapes are considered universal. Such furniture models can be selected for a room of any size. The beds can be placed against the walls or in the center of the room, and this is a big plus. The dimensions of the models can be different, the most popular are one-and-a-half (width 160-200 cm) and double (width from 200 cm). The standard length of beds is 190-200 cm.

Manufacturers produce models whose frame structure (rigid base for the mattress) is made in the form of a podium or rests on legs (metal, wood).

Most often, a podium bed is chosen for interior design in a minimalist style. The advantages of such models: the ability to organize storage spaces, unusual design, original materials (leather, textiles) are used for the upholstery of the structure. Products are produced in different heights - low (20-30 cm), medium (40-60 cm), high (from 70 cm). Medium-height podiums are considered the most popular, since high beds are sometimes uncomfortable to sleep on, and low beds can cause psychological discomfort.

Manufacturing materials

The main requirements for materials are: strength, durability, environmental friendliness, aesthetic appeal, affordability. Standard materials used in furniture production:

  • natural wood - the main advantages of the material: reliability of construction, natural beauty, pleasant smell of natural wood. The disadvantages include high cost, heavy weight, and the use of special surface care products. There are two types of solid wood: soft (pine, linden, alder), withstanding loads of 150-500 kg, and hard (beech, ash, oak), capable of withstanding a weight of 250-650 kg;
  • MDF/chipboard - they are used to make practical beds that do not require special care. Thanks to affordable prices and a variety of colors and textures, such models are in great demand. Main disadvantages: the material quickly deteriorates in conditions of high humidity. Products made from chipboard have a short service life;
  • a combination of metal elements and parts made of wood or MDF. Such beds are very popular because the metal frame ensures increased reliability and durability. And the wooden base boxes give the products an aesthetic appearance and bring comfort to the minimalist environment.

A wide variety of materials are used to decorate the base:

  • High-quality fabrics give the beds an impeccable appearance. Arpatek (the material contains 25% natural fibers) is considered one of the most expensive varieties. The fabric has the appearance of leather, but is soft and thin to the touch. Also popular are relaxation, jacquard, chenille, flock, velor, artificial suede;
  • genuine leather is an elegant, strong and durable material. A special advantage of the material is environmental friendliness. A bed with a leather podium adds a touch of exclusivity and luxury to the decor. Most often, bovine leather is used for furniture upholstery, the thickness of which can be about 5 mm. Aniline leather is considered the most expensive - a high-quality material with a thickness of at least 1.5 mm. Its distinctive feature is the absorption of moisture and organic oils. When caring for leather surfaces, the use of chemicals is not recommended.

When choosing a bed in the minimalist style, preference should be given to simple products devoid of decor (ornament, carving, painting). If you want to make the bed the main element of the interior, then choose discreet finishes for the walls and floor (plain color or with small ornaments) and install a minimum of additional furniture.

Decorative elements

In the interior of a bedroom, minimalism cannot be oversaturated with details, but it is necessary to avoid harshness and coldness in the design. It is better to leave the bedroom walls almost open, add only 1-2 items, for example, a wall clock, a panel or a painting.

There are small lamps and several fresh flowers on the bedside tables.

Character traits

If you have chosen a minimalist bedroom design, first of all you should understand its features.

Of course, a minimum of furniture. The emphasis is on convenience rather than quantity. Choose pieces of furniture that can combine several functions: built-in wardrobes and furniture corners will help you save space without compromising your quality of life.

Simplicity of forms. Geometry is in fashion, so it will be great if some decorative elements carry this zest.

Natural materials should predominate in the decoration: wood, glass, metal, cork.

The airiness of space. This is achieved by increasing the distance between pieces of furniture, remember point 1.

Lack or minimal presence of decor in the room. We remember that the eyes, which are already constantly stressed, should take a break from the riot of colors and abundance of details.

Lots of natural light - long live large windows!

A certain color palette. Which? Let's talk about this below.

Minimalism with small dimensions

For small bedrooms, minimalism is ideal so that the room does not look cramped and is elegant. Sliding doors with frosted glass and wardrobes with mirrors will help with this. A comfortable bed with a hidden drawer for bed linen, etc.

You need to choose light, warm shades to raise the ceiling and create a feeling of lightness and spaciousness.

Taking into account the advice of professionals, you will tastefully decorate a bedroom, even a small one, by correctly placing accents and choosing pastel colors for comfortable rest and sleep.

Bed in minimalist style

In any bedroom, the main place is given to the bed, which is quite logical. You should select Japanese furniture, futons and podiums with a headboard without any decoration. Beds that create the feeling that they are floating in the air will look great. As a rule, diffused lighting is used with such a piece of furniture. Sometimes, instead of a minimalist bed, you can buy a regular mattress.

The headboard should be strictly square and the legs straight. You can place black nightstands next to the bed. With this tint option, light-colored floors and walls will look good.

There are also a lot of unusual products that will easily attract creative people.
