Round mirror in the interior - 100 examples

Lots of mirrors in the interior

A very interesting technique is to use several mirrors located side by side on the same wall to decorate a room. Moreover, very often all these mirrors are of different shapes and sizes, and are also hung at random, just as paintings and photographs are often hung. However, sometimes similar in shape and even identical mirrors are used.

Experimenting with the surface of a mirror in the interior

The mirror surface is a large area for experimentation; for example, some designers know how to give it an aging effect, add color, etc. But there is one rule: when choosing a place, those objects that the mirror reflects, and not its surface itself, should be illuminated.

The history of the origin of the mirror - the sun

The oldest work of art depicting a mirror - the sun - is considered to be a painting by the artist Jan van Eyck, painted back in the 15th century. Later, in the 17th century, various metal elements with sparkling rays of the sun, very reminiscent of mirrors, began to be used by the Catholic Church as objects personifying the spiritual principle.

From their very origins until the end of the 17th century, all mirrors were very small and convex. It was, of course, impossible to see a real reflection in such mirrors without any distortion. The situation changed only when King Louis XIV of France ordered the construction of his own glass factory, one of the main directions of which was the production of mirrors of the best quality at that time. However, these mirrors cost a lot of money, and only very noble and wealthy people could afford them.

With the ascension of King Louis XIV to the throne, a new era in architecture and interior design began. He chose the head of Apollo, surrounded by shining rays of sunlight, as the symbol for his personal coat of arms, as a result of which he was called the “Sun King”.

In the royal palace at Versailles, the symbol of Louis XIV can be found in almost every element of the interior, from the entrance gate to writing utensils and similar little things.

The palace even had a unique hall of mirrors, where, of course, there was room for sparkling mirrors framed in the shape of sun rays. Since then, the mirror-sun has not lost its relevance, regardless of changes in interior styles.

Mirror in the bedroom interior

It is not uncommon for a mirror to be found in a modern bedroom interior. The most common way is to have a dressing table in the bedroom with a mirror on or above it. It is also common to simply hang a mirror on the wall in the bedroom so that you can look at it in the morning when combing your hair and getting ready for work.

We have already written about a mirror in the bedroom, and you can read about it in more detail.

Manufacturing process: step-by-step instructions

Step 1. Prepare the stencil

Cut out a sheet of paper in a shape that completely matches the mirror. It should be a circle. We find the center and draw straight lines from it to the edge. As a result, we form 24 sections, equal in size. Inside the large circle we draw a smaller one, retreating 2.5 or 3 cm from the edge. We will draw rays along the straight lines.

And for the price, this type will be the most attractive.

We work in the same way with the third and fourth piles.

The stencil is ready. All that remains is to transfer the finished drawing onto cardboard. Cut out another circle of similar size from it.

Leave the first group of ray sticks at their original size and set them aside. We shorten the second group by 7 cm. We cut the third group by 10 cm. And the fourth by 13 cm.

It is necessary to saw off the sharp edges of all sticks and polish them with sandpaper.

Here a person is limited only by his own imagination and the availability of the necessary material.

After all, this is one of the ways to add sophistication to the interior and set the desired atmosphere.

Step 3. Glue the rays

We glue the longest rays from the center of the circle according to the prepared pattern. It is more convenient and faster to use a glue gun. Then we take the second set of shortened sticks and glue them not from the center of the circle, but from the edge of the second, inner circle. We work in the same way with the third and fourth piles.

The easiest way to make it is using bamboo sticks, since this option does not require special skills.
