Bed
The central place in the bedroom should be occupied by the bed.
All other pieces of furniture are arranged in relation to it. It is important to place the bed in such a way that when you wake up, your gaze stops on something pleasant. Therefore, it would be a mistake to place a closet or drying rack with clothes opposite the bed. The best arrangement would be to place the bed in the room so that there is free space on both sides of it. You should not place a double bed close to the wall on one side or diagonally in a corner (with the exception of round-shaped beds). When it comes to size, the bigger the better. It is also believed that high beds are more comfortable than low ones. However, this is a matter of taste. Classic beds with a laconic design never go out of style.
An excellent way to make your bedroom feel cozy is to choose a bed with a soft headboard. Headboards upholstered in fabric look original and stylish. They are so pleasant to lean on, for example, while reading. If the head of the bed is traditionally simple and not very high, then the wall above it can be decorated with a painting, poster, decorative mirrors in beautiful frames or an unusual clock. If the headboard is high or pompously decorated in itself, the wall above the bed should remain empty.

Ideally, the color scheme of paintings and posters hung in the bedroom above the bed should be harmoniously combined with the shades of the bedspread and bed linen.
Can a hallway be cozy?
Any apartment begins with a hallway. It is this room, sometimes tiny, that gives everyone who enters the impression of the entire apartment. This room has a number of features: quite a lot of things are stored in it that need to be hidden somewhere. This is why it is important to choose the right furniture.
Sliding wardrobes are ideal for the hallway. But if space does not allow, you can limit yourself to wall shelves, hangers and other accessories that are not only functional, but also fill the room with decor. To create an atmosphere of warmth and comfort in the hallway, equip it with shelves on which you can place various cute trinkets. But in this matter you need to know when to stop so as not to turn the corridor into a haberdashery shop.
Usually the hallway seems uncomfortable due to the lack of natural light. If the room is too small, a flat central chandelier mounted on the ceiling and a lamp located near the mirror are sufficient. For more spacious rooms, you can use LED strip to illuminate cabinets, the front door, etc.
For wall decoration, it is better to use a combination of dark and light coatings. The long walls that form the corridor are painted (pasted) in light colors. You can use the following combinations:
- beige – brown;
- White black.
Wall decoration
Typically, designers focus on one wall of the bedroom - either behind the bed or immediately opposite. The wall can be highlighted with a brighter color, wallpaper with large patterns, photo wallpaper or panels.
Recently, wallpapers with ornaments in the form of monograms have become very popular. They are perfect for a classic-style bedroom. However, you shouldn’t cover all the walls with them, no matter how beautiful the picture is. Wallpaper with such a complex print will look best on 1-2 walls in combination with plain planes.
Small cozy apartments
Is it possible to decorate a very small home in an interesting and original way? Many owners of small-sized housing are sure that a cozy apartment cannot be created in an area that is too small. However, this is a common misconception. Moreover, many designers believe that it is much easier to create a cozy interior for a small apartment than a more spacious one.
Today there are many interesting special publications on interior design. Everyone who flips through these magazines from time to time imagines what a cozy apartment looks like. Ideas for decorating a small room can be very unexpected and original. It must be said that many owners of small apartments can compete with experienced designers in this matter.
Young people quite often use a technique that is widespread in our time - creating a studio apartment. However, this solution is not suitable for everyone. If a small apartment consists of two rooms, then a separate room can become a nursery or bedroom. In a one-room apartment everything is much more complicated. If several people live in an apartment, then the room combines a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and office. In this case, all the space freed up after dismantling the partitions is divided into functional zones.
If there is no desire or financial opportunity to rebuild a small living space, for example, a Khrushchev-era apartment, you can go the other way, and you can decorate the premises in stages, room by room. First of all, you need to get rid of bulky dark furniture and unnecessary things that are simply “a shame to throw away.”
A small apartment requires light, multifunctional furniture. In addition, all finishing materials should also be light. For modest-sized rooms, you should not use a large number of large parts and accessories. It is more advisable to use mirrors of various shapes in the interior, glass shelves for small decorative ornaments: figurines, photos, vases, etc. The home should be filled with little things that are unnoticeable, but so pleasant to your heart. Indoor plants will enliven the interior and add coziness.
Bedside tables and other furniture
Bedside tables do not have to be from the same furniture collection, but they must be the same height. It is most convenient if the bedside table is level or slightly higher than the bed.
What to put on the side tables and chest of drawers in the bedroom to fill the room with coziness:
- flowers in small pots;
- glass vases with dried flowers or shells;
- figurines;
- aroma candles;
- photographs in beautiful frames;
- books, notepads;
- wicker baskets with useful little things.
You shouldn’t clutter up a small room with furniture; it’s better to limit yourself to the necessary minimum. In this case, it is advisable to opt for furniture in light shades. Typically, a small bedroom is more comfortable the more laconic the design. Dark furniture looks better in large rooms, but it must be balanced with light floors and walls.

If room space allows, be sure to fill the empty space at the foot of the bed with small furniture. These could be two soft poufs or one long banquette, a pair of compact armchairs or even a decorative wooden chest table.
Successful examples
Nothing helps inspire you like someone else's experience with a positive outcome. We invite you to look at beautiful ideas, bookmark all practical solutions, a lot of beauty, stylish interiors. Let's look at the open interior, where natural materials are used - this is a wonderful image for a summer house. Please note that such a convincing interior can be considered economical, if we talk specifically about the arrangement of the room.
A wooden house is a reason to think about making a manor in the Russian style. A large room will be reserved for the dining room and this is very reasonable if you have a large and hospitable family. Even a veranda can inspire a Scandinavian-style home. And this is beneficial for small spaces. And white will be an excellent backdrop for creative experimentation and even modest decor.
Don't be afraid to do something you've never done before. You shouldn’t look at your neighbors and relatives - do everything boldly, boldly and surrender to your own desires, in which case you will be comfortable in the country.
Bedroom textiles
Bed linen, bedspreads, upholstery and other textiles should be chosen to match the tone and style with the rest of the furnishings. For example, if your bedroom has a classic bed with a wrought-iron headboard, then it is better to buy bed linen with a traditional floral print, monograms, or a plain one, rather than a modern one with abstractions and a view of the city at night.
This does not mean that all items in the bedroom should be the same color or have the same pattern. It is best to use a harmonious combination of colors. For example, a beige pouf at the foot of the bed can echo a soft headboard of the same color, and the upholstery of blue armchairs with a pattern on the bedspread.
Bedspread and blanket
When choosing a bedspread, you should be guided by the following rule: it should be 20-25 cm greater than the length and width of the bed. The bedspread can be complemented with a textured blanket. It should be folded lengthwise several times and placed at the bottom of the bed.

Decorative pillows
To decorate a made bed, be sure to use decorative pillows, but do not overdo them; two or three will be enough.
The easiest way to decorate a bed with pillows: place two standard pillows in covers at the head, and one smaller decorative pillow between them.
You can slightly complicate the arrangement: lean two standard pillows in decorative covers vertically against the headboard, and place two more smaller pillows in front of them. The composition will be completed by a small rectangular pillow perched in the middle. If this is a child’s bedroom, then you can put a teddy bear next to the mini-pillow.
Curtains
Curtains in the same color scheme with a bedspread and decorative pillows create a harmonious interior. But it would be a mistake to sew them from absolutely identical fabric. The combination of natural materials in the bedroom always looks stylish. Therefore, it is best to avoid synthetics. Preference should be given to cotton, linen, silk and wool.
Bed sheets
When choosing bedding, you can experiment with different textures and styles, combining, for example, thick and rough linen with shiny decorative satin pillowcases, or a feminine lace bedspread with a chunky knitted wool blanket.
Bedding should be beautiful and of excellent quality, because you use it every day. Bed linen should be changed at least once a week.
With these simple but useful tips, your bedroom will become a great place to relax and rejuvenate.
How to arrange the yard of a private house: paths and platforms
Undesigned parking spaces and paths between individual sections of the yard look rather ugly. They look like trampled lawns. Sites and paths paved with various materials look much more original. For these purposes use:
- wild stone;
- granite;
- paving stones;
- wood cuts;
- concrete plates.
The flower bed is complemented with stones.
When laying paths, you can leave a small space between the slabs and fill it with small pebbles, sand or garden grass. In such intervals you can plant small flowering plants. Thyme, cloves, primroses and any dwarf plants are suitable.

Paths located in the immediate vicinity of the house must be made in a simple style. Materials such as paving stones, concrete, red and white brick are more appropriate here. In more informal areas, for example, near an artificial pond or in a mini-forest, when organizing paths, it is better to use irregular shapes, materials of different textures and dimensions.
On a note! It is imperative to focus on the general style of the facade when creating the design of the courtyard of a private house. Photos of modern courtyards show various options for decorating the site, depending on the material used to finish the house.
