- Draw a line in the center of the dress (it may not be black) to create a V-shaped neckline. Bring it to the level of the seam of the cut-off waist. If modesty does not allow you to wear a product with a deep neckline, stop a little higher. But we are definitely not making an office version of the dress.
- Cut the fabric along the line with scissors. Once you have the cutout design, fold the fabric over and secure with pins.
- Mark the lacing holes with dots. How often they will be located depends on your desire. From the starting point, visually divide the cutout into five equal parts. In each of them and mark the points with chalk (if you want frequent lacing, you will need more divisions).
- Cut your pre-prepared leather cord into 10 equally small pieces. These segments will be needed for the loops intended for lacing.
- Fold the prepared laces in half to form loops and use pins to attach them to the places where we previously marked with chalk.
- Sew the edges of the neckline to secure the fabric and loop it. You can do this yourself or using a sewing machine.
- When you have sewn all the loops in the right places, use a long cord to weave the neckline from top to bottom. We finish the lacing with a neat bow.
You can also make an original summer version from an old dress. To do this, take a plain, boring thing, preferably short in length. Make small holes on the sleeves and along the hem line (you can even punch them with a hole punch). Thread bunches of multi-colored floss into the resulting holes and tie the threads together so that they do not fall out when worn. Please note that the floss should be multi-colored. Then the image will turn out to be truly bright and summery. Complete the item with a red belt at the waist.

How to make shorts from old jeans with your own hands?
Literally every person has at least a couple of unnecessary denim trousers in their closet. Such things can be given a new life and made into fashionable shorts with the help of alterations.
Necessary materials:

An easy way to sew shorts from old clothes
Let's look at the fastest and easiest way to repurpose old things.
Let's make fashionable shorts using needlework. First you need to try on the jeans for yourself, standing in front of the mirror. Looking at your reflection in the mirror, select a satisfying length and make a mark with chalk. To the marked area we will add another 1 cm, which will be needed to hem the edge. If you are planning shorts with turn-ups, then you need to make a second mark that will indicate the turn-up.
After measuring, you need to take off your jeans and draw an even line along the length on a flat surface with a ruler. We take scissors and cut off our jeans pants legs exactly.
Then, once the legs are cut, the edges are hemmed. You can hem them in various ways, depending on what design the shorts will be. If according to the plan these are the most ordinary shorts, then the edge is folded inward 1 cm and hemmed using a sewing machine. If the shorts have a turn up, you need to turn the edge outward at the same distance as in the first case, then we make another turn and hem it.
Decoration scheme for denim shorts. We take shorts, preferably they are simple without cuffs. Cut out small triangles on the sides of the shorts near the seam. We take the lace and sew this lace to the shorts. To simplify the sewing procedure, you can pin lace triangles to the product using pins, and then sew them on using a needle or sewing machine. There is another way to make lace shorts with your own hands.
