Perhaps collecting leaves deserves its own step, but I don't have any photos of walking through the park, looking at trees and picking out leaves.

I tried to select leaves that were not completely dry. They are easier to trace when you can lay them flat without breaking them.

Outlining the leaves with a pencil or marker would take too long. I used flour instead. I put some flour on a plate, poked it with a roll of felt, then spread the flour onto the sheet and felt. This works really well and removing the flour once you've finished cutting out the leaves is no problem.

When the leaves are dry, they can be strung. I use a small hole punch, but you could sew them onto elastic, for example.

I would like to make a garland no longer than 1.5 m, so I measured the rope 2 m long with a reserve for knots. I decided that I would first lay out the leaves to choose the option that suited me.

I attached a wooden bead to one end to prevent the other beads and leaves from slipping off. I then put on one small leaf and two wooden beads and tied a knot to secure them.

I added a few more wooden beads, tying a knot on either side of them to secure them in place, and tied a knot next to each felt sheet I strung. This secures them in place and also creates a little extra rope to allow the leaves to hang from it.

Once you have secured all the leaves and beads to the rope, decorate the end the same way as the beginning. I put on two wooden beads again, a small felt sheet and another wooden bead attached to a string.

You can make such a garland from crepe paper - this is a type of corrugated paper, only its texture is fine and it feels softer and more velvety to the touch.

So, you need to take a new roll of corrugated colored paper, without unfolding it, make cuts to the middle of the roll along each folded side. You can leave any gaps you want. The larger the gaps, the larger the mesh and vice versa. In our case, the interval is 2 cm.
