Opposite the parent's bed. Parents can see their child right from the bed. Later, instead of a cradle, you can put a chest of drawers or hang a plasma panel on the wall.
Near the parents' bed. If you want to be as close to your baby as possible, this is the option for you. It seems that he sleeps alone, but also with his parents. On the side closest to you, the side is removed and you can sleep holding your baby by the hand. And it’s much easier to feed at night - you don’t need to insert it from your own bed.

There are other places for a baby crib: along the wall, with the headboard against the wall, almost in the middle of the room. It all depends on the size of the bedroom.

The design of a bedroom with a crib suggests that the main place in the room is reserved for the matrimonial bed. Only after a place has been chosen for this central element of the interior, a bed for a newborn and a place for it are chosen.

The cradles are small enough (120 cm x 60 cm or 140 cm x 70 cm) so that you can leave a place for them in the corner of the room or in any free space. To ensure that nothing disturbs the comfort of adult family members in the bedroom, it is important to leave a passage to both sides of the bed. It is advisable to leave about 60-70 cm of free space on each side of the bed.

The bed for spouses can be located in different ways, but the most optimal option is to place its headboard against one of the walls in the middle of the room. If the bedroom is too narrow, the bed can be placed along the room, but this way it will only be accessible from one side.

Think it might make sense to place the bed diagonally. Also decide what other furniture adults need in this room: a chest of drawers for bed linen, a wardrobe, bedside tables, a dressing table or something else.

Think through different options, draw a room plan and “move” furniture to achieve the optimal solution. If in the future you plan to combine an adult bedroom with a children's room, prepare a place for a partition or screen, leave space for the baby to study, consider creating a heated floor in the children's area, etc. It’s better to think through every little detail in advance.

After choosing a place for the marital bed, you can start decorating the area for the newborn. Naturally, you cannot place the crib near the door, where there may be drafts, or near the window, where temperature changes are possible due to the proximity of the cold from the street and the heat from the radiator. The combination “newborn corner” is very common, which determines the best location of the crib in the corner of the room. Seeing real boundaries on the one hand and mother on the other, the baby feels more protected.

There should be no things near the crib that the child can reach or that could fall during his sleep. Ease of feeding is also a plus. But it will be possible to approach the matrimonial bed only from one side, and it is also quite difficult to adjust and rearrange the bed.

What furniture and household items will your baby need? All these details, as we have already written, will need to be included in the drawing of the room.

Crib

This is a required element. As for the design, it can be made in the same style and color as an adult: white, beige, light brown. Except that black is clearly not a child's color.

On the other hand, you can play with shades and choose light green, pink or blue for the cradle.

Naturally, the material from which the crib is made must be natural. And the distance between the twigs is such that the baby’s head cannot fit into it - it will never get stuck.

Pay attention to models whose side walls can be adjusted in height. When the baby grows up, he will be able to make forays into the world himself, but for now it will be more convenient for parents to rearrange the crib and take the child in their arms.

There is a canopy hanging over the crib if there is a need for it. However, it should not be solid, but with a hole for ventilation at the top. The child, of course, will not be able to suffocate under it, but it will be stuffy for him.

Chest of drawers or nightstand

The baby's clothes and diapers are stored here, and on the tabletop there are baby care products, a night light, napkins, bottles, and toys. Of course, something will need to be covered with a napkin.

This piece of furniture makes caring for a child much easier. And you will have to swaddle, change clothes, and change diapers often.
