Finishing
To zone the space of the open studio apartment, I used various wall finishing materials. The alcove and the kitchen wall were lined with laminate with an imitation of an aged board with imprints of stenciled inscriptions. An oak parquet board was placed on the floor, which matches it in tone and texture.
The rest of the walls are white, but there are differences in texture. In the opening between the kitchen and the bathroom there is an interesting architectural detail - a rounded pilaster covered with colorless wax plaster. One gets the feeling of a semi-gloss fuselage skin, which is also reflected in the mirror planes opposite.
The main feature in the decoration of this studio is the imitation of brickwork on the largest wall. It is made using gypsum tiles, painted on top in two different layers. First, we painted the entire masonry, including the seams, with Miranol glossy enamel from Tikkurila. The second layer was applied with matte water-based paint - only on the outer plane of the bricks.

Interior design begins with decoration. In a bachelor's apartment, the main requirements are practicality and ease of maintenance. For example, a board made of natural wood is difficult to maintain and requires maintaining a certain level of humidity.
